About the project

Lotus Apartment is an interior design concept created for a new residential building in Blagoevgrad. Developed for a real estate venture, the goal was to highlight the apartment’s most striking features and create a sophisticated interior that appeals to potential buyers. Our primary goal was to create an elegant and aspirational living space — one that not only enhances the architectural qualities of the apartment but also communicates a lifestyle of comfort and sophistication.

Situated on the top floor, the apartment features a generous terrace that naturally extends the interior trough an outdoor living area. We envisioned this terrace as a calm urban retreat — a green garden with dedicated areas for relaxation and social gatherings. The architect’s refined pergola contributes to the charm of the space, casting soft, dynamic shadows throughout the day. Inspired by the client’s love for greenery, we introduced plants as a unifying design element, seamlessly blending the interior and exterior atmospheres.

Design approach

Warm tones and soft, curved shapes were used to achieve a sense of comfort and balance, while high-quality materials and rich textures give the interior depth and sophistication. The design direction for Lotus focuses on expressing a sense of calm elegance through soft forms, warm materials, and balanced contrasts. We aimed to achieve a premium feel without excess, a modern interpretation of luxury defined by quality, comfort, and visual harmony.

Our inspiration stemmed from the natural interplay between light and texture, as well as the organic shapes found in nature. These ideas translated into a design language of curved lines, rounded furniture silhouettes, and flowing architectural transitions. By combining refined materials such as marble, brass, and walnut wood with a gentle beige-brown palette, we sought to create a timeless atmosphere — one that feels both elevated and inviting.

Functional Strategy

Functionally, Lotus was designed with clarity and spaciousness in mind. Every element, from furniture layout to lighting, was planned to emphasize the openness of the apartment and its seamless connection to the terrace.

Our goal was to make the interior intuitive and easy to inhabit — a place where movement feels natural and comfort comes effortlessly. Each zone was organized to highlight the apartment’s key selling points: generous proportions, natural light, and direct access to outdoor living. In terms of practical design, we also aimed to ensure that the space could accommodate various living scenarios — from quiet evenings to lively gatherings — without sacrificing its refined atmosphere.

How we did it

We brought the Lotus concept to life through a composition of smooth, flowing forms and carefully curated materials. The softly curved ceiling visually expands the space and enhances its architectural identity, while rounded furniture pieces echo this sense of fluidity.

The luxurious gloss of the marble tiles is balanced by matte furniture finishes. The rich walnut paneling creates a tactile interplay of textures, further elevated by the addition of brass accents. These elements come together to form an environment that feels both sophisticated and harmonious.

The terrace extends the interior’s calm aesthetic outdoors — framed by greenery and natural light, it becomes a continuation of the living space. The result is a refined yet welcoming home, where elegance meets ease and every detail contributes to a sense of effortless sophistication.
