About the project
River Park – Wabi Sabi is the second interior concept developed for the River Park residential complex. While the previous River Park design reinterprets luxury through softness and light, this version draws inspiration from the calm imperfection and quiet harmony of the Wabi Sabi philosophy.
The task was to create an interior concept that could be applied across all apartments — adaptable, repeatable, and ready for immediate living — while offering a distinct mood that feels natural, warm, and elegant.
Design approach
Our goal was for the design to interpret a Wabi Sabi-inspired aesthetic, translating its philosophy into a practical and livable environment. We aimed to envision a space that would celebrate simplicity, texture, and the character of materials, even when expressed through affordable and low-maintenance, durable alternatives.
We sought to preserve the organic feeling of handcrafted elements and raw finishes, while reinterpreting them in a way suitable for everyday use and contemporary building standards. We aimed for natural tones, rich textures, and subtle details to shape a space that feels tactile, warm, and refined.
Functional Strategy
Functionality was a key priority, as in any well-planned interior. The design needed to be aesthetically pleasing, ergonomic, and adaptable to real needs. We focused on using the space effectively and creating interiors that feel natural and easy to live with, enhancing everyday comfort.
How we did it
To create an authentic Wabi Sabi atmosphere, we worked with natural textures and earthy tones expressed through practical solutions. Chevron-patterned hardwood floors, Ceppo di Gré tiles, and brown Castella oak décor establish the base. Plastered walls, soft rounded furniture, and bouclé upholstery add warmth and tactile character. Layered elements such as wood and fabric paneling, abstract artwork, patterned carpets, and subtle wallpapers complete the interior. Brass accents bring a quiet sense of refinement, connecting the concept to the broader River Park vision.
